Tuesday 6th January - walks ** – Around Felixstowe – sunny and cold.

A very cold night getting down to minus 11 in Marham in Norfolk meaning what was left of yesterdays light snow turned to ice making it more treacherous to walk on today, looked an OK sunrise but decided to stay in bed with the electric blanket! After a run of no pics on the telly I was going to have a day off but it was lovely and sunny so I decided to have a drive down to Felixstowe Ferry. It took several minutes to defrost the ice from the windscreen and slowly drove off, first stop the beach huts on Brackenbury cliff where my photo was used by Aisling on ITV Anglia’s web page but it sadly did not make on the telly:( I then stopped for a couple of shoots on the Felixstowe golf course which was white with frosty snow as the temperature was around minus 3 at 10.30 in the morning! Parking at the Ferry I was taking a few pics of the icy tenders when I bumped into a seal pup basking in the winter sunshine. I quickly gave it some space watching it for several minutes getting some nice pics, the youngster looked fit enough apart from watery eyes so fingers crossed there is nothing seriously wrong with if ? I stopped at the cliff top car park for one last pic white golf course, defiantly play not possible for a few days I think! Then home for breakfast and sort out my pics which lead to lunch before Mag and I set off on a quick walk down to the seafront, back to the town and onto Marys as its Tuesday for a cuppa and chat, I nipped out to the car park opposite to take a few pics of a nice sunset before walking home to make a hot water bottle, we know how to live! There is a named storm coming on Thursday which could bring strong winds and heavy snow to parts of the region, BBC’s Look East featured several snowy pics to end the programme but I missed out again:(
